Biomed. Eng. Emir Oncu

Emir Oncu is a biomedical engineer and AI researcher currently pursuing a master's degree in bioengineering at Yıldız Technical University (Istanbul, Türkiye), which he began in 2025. His research focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence and medical imaging, particularly using convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for disease detection and diagnostic support. His areas of interest include brain tumor classification from MRI images, pediatric dental diagnostics with X-rays, and scaffold tissue modeling via 3D bioprinting. He also investigates the antimicrobial properties and biocompatibility of nanofibers and biomaterials. Emir has developed AI-powered tools for clinical decision-making, employing technologies such as Grad-CAM, FastAPI, OpenCV, and transfer learning. He actively publishes preprints and participates in interdisciplinary academic projects.
